WHY YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR LINCOLN CLASSIC 2 DIESEL.
Whenever I am asked my opinion on what used diesel welder to look for, there is only one machine I feel
comfortable recommending., The Lincoln Classic 2 with a Deutz diesel. From my experience, it is the most reliable, simplest diesel welder ever manufactured. I told a customer recently if he found a used one for $5000. and invested another $10,000.00 on it, it-he would be money ahead. Never confuse cost vs.
Value. Think about it: What new diesel can you purchase and know you can maintain it for the foreseeable future? I don,t know.
1. The machine is user-friendly. With the right attitude, you can save time and money. We will help you understand, upgrade, and repair your machine.

2. The Deutz F31101 is a three-cylinder oil/air-cooled diesel engine. The engines are a standard of the industrial and agriculture industry, FYI: 50% of all diesel engine failures are cooling system failures. Overheating and freezing are not a worry anymore.

3 They turn slowly at 1800 RPMs. Slow means less wear. Their reliability and ease of repair. The welder end is identical to the SA250 and the Classic series.

4. Lincoln is walking away from these machines as fast as they can. The aftermarket has picked up the slack and is producing replacement parts far superior to the original. Aluminum wiring, paper insulation, and insulating varnish are obsolete. Our updated plastic insulation and epoxy coating should last a lifetime.

6. We want to help you make your Classic 2 as reliable and long-lived as possible. Lincoln has obsoleted all the DC welders and is forcing them into inverter power supplies. It’s time to face reality-in my opinion, this is a disaster in the making. The Lincoln family does not control Lincoln Electric®. In my humble opinion, management today has no idea what the welder, distributor, and repair technician go through on a day-to-day basis. You purchase a machine with a thirty-six (36) warranty, which, in my opinion, is designed to be manufactured rather than easily repaired.
These machines are incredibly complicated, with electronic assemblies that cannot be repaired. They are manufactured to be unrepairable. What happens if your PC board fails in the future, cannot be repaired, and is obsolete and no longer available? What do you do when the technician says, Your board is defective, cannot be repaired, and a new one is not available? What you have is a $30,000.00 boat anchor with a diesel engine!
