If you own a Lincoln welder, with a four-cylinder Perkins engine, it should give you years of trouble-free service if you're willing to do the proper maintenance. Here's the problem: if you go to your local yokel Lincoln dealer, they do not support the engine-LINCOLN DOES NOT SUPPORT THE ENGINE!
To compound the problem: some parts on the engine were installed by Perkins and some were installed by Lincoln Electric. You have to figure out who put what--where? For example on your machine there is a water trap, you need a water trap! The water trap was provided by Perkins, but Lincoln provided all the hardware to install it. If you have a problem with the water trap who do you turn to?
